What moves the number
Tacos, BBQ, and pizza tend to land at the lower end of ranges. Sushi, steak, premium seafood, and chef-driven custom menus add 15 to 30 percent.
Most quotes assume a 2 to 3 hour service window. Longer windows add labor cost. Shorter windows reduce minimums slightly but rarely below the per-truck floor.
Most vendors price per-guest on a sliding scale - more guests, lower per-guest cost. Smaller events (under 75 guests) pay the per-truck minimum which can push per-guest cost up.
Events outside the core Chicagoland service area may carry a travel fee, typically $100 to $300 per truck depending on distance and time.
Gratuity (usually 18 to 20 percent) is sometimes pre-baked into the per-guest price. Power, generator, and permit fees only apply at venues without the right infrastructure.
